Blog designers

Another aspect of our work is designing custom blogs for individuals. Blog software is usually found "off the peg", but sometimes bloggers want special features such as login pages or payment pages, or want bespoke blog design. We're happy to help. A recent example is this site for a couple who went off sailing around the world. They're busy braving the open seas and didn't want to worry about the blog design, so we stepped in and completed the project in time for their departure.

Social networking software

The Internet is social. Instead of the one-way flow of information from traditional media, the web offers the ability to interact with site owners and other site users. The proof of this is the huge growth in social networks such as Facebook, Bebo and Twitter.

We recognised this trend many years ago and since then nearly all of the web sites we have built have incorporated social features. This ranges from online community forums, to rating systems, to trust systems, groups, user profiling, instant messaging systems and news feeds.

One obvious candidate for social interaction is the online dating site. We have designed and built many such sites over the years and we were the first online dating provider to install social networking features onto an online dating site. Examples include Midsummer's Eve and Cupid.co.uk. Online dating is heavily reliant on trust and the wisdom of the crowd is by far the best and cheapest way to provide such trust.

Web design for bands

One of the most enjoyable aspects of our work (and we love it all) is web design for bands and musicians. Many bands use MySpace as their primary online presence as this makes managing gig lists, record releases and fan interaction easy. We're experienced in designing MySpace presences for bands and artistes.

We also recommend a separate web site as this is vital for search engine visibility. For example, this web site for a Smiths tribute band. The band wanted a site which could be easily maintained by any of the group (who had no web site experience), which was fully search engine optimised, could include photo galleries, music downloads, comment forms, gig lists and biographies. We provided a low-cost self-managed web site which is extremely effective and has helped the band achieve many bookings through agents finding them in search engines.
